Kevin Danso makes big confession to Black Sherif

Date:

Tottenham star defender Kevin Danso has made a shocking revelation about himself to Ghanaian international music icon Black Sherif.

Normally in natural settings, you would hear football stars going on about how they’ve always wanted to be footballers, emulating their idols on the field of play.

Well, this was not that of Kevin Danso. Born to Ghanaian parents in Austria, he confessed how much he hated the game of football in his wee years. He preferred watching action movie icons such as Jackie Chan.

The 26-year-old’s deep appreciation of his Ghanaian heritage is down to his parents, who are from Tafo, ensuring he is abreast of Ghana’s culture, especially the Akan’s.

“From about the age of 7 I hated football. I wanted to be in action movies, become an actor, and do karate stuff. Even when my brother and father watch football, I could get so bored.

I wanted to watch action movies like Jackie Chan and Jean-Claude Van Damme. One day it just clicked. I started as a striker. Since I started, playing I realised it was fun,” Danso disclosed to Black Sherif.

The Austrian centre-back started his career at Reading, then moved to Milton Keynes Dons before turning professional at FC Augsburg in Germany and has gone on to thrive at Southampton, Fortuna Düsseldorf, and Lens.

Danso was on his way for a visit in London when he got wind of Tottenham Hotspur’s interest. He joined the “welcoming” North London club without thinking twice.
