Budding Ghanaian artist Zebulun Aklerh Ocansey, known on stage as Aklerh, has endorsed Shatta Wale as the African dancehall king.
She said there’s no dispute about the title conferred on Shatta Wale by the legendary reggae/dancehall musician Vybz Kartel.
It could be recalled that Shatta Wale performed at Vybz Kartel’s Freedom Street Concert and was praised by the Jamaican artist as the African dancehall king.
Since then, the title sparked controversy in Ghana with Stonebwoy’s fans and many entertainment pundits disputing that title conferred on Shatta.
However, speaking in an interview with Max Morning Show in Accra last Thursday, Aklerh confirmed that Shatta Wale was indeed the Dancehall King in Africa.
She said Vybz Kartel was the current dancehall king in Jamaica, and the entire dancehall music world thus knew the traits of the real dancehall king.
“So who am I to say no? If Vybz Kartel says Shatta Wale is the dancehall king of Africa, so be it!” Aklerh added.
Aklerh is known as the Authentic Voice of Labadi and was born in 1991 by the legendary media icon and first chairman of the Rastafari Continental Council (R.C.C.), Ahuma Bosco Ocansey, aka Daddy Bosco.
She is a reggae dancehall musician and delivers effortlessly when she does Afrobeats as well.
