Nana Oduro Sarfo has downplayed comments directed at the president of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Okraku’s influence on referees in Ghana.
According to Oduro Sarfo, an Executive Council member of the GFA, the accusations are baseless since the club owned by Kurt Okraku is languishing at the bottom of the Ghana Premier League standings.
He questioned why Kurt Okraku does not use the referees to his advantage, if he truly had any influence on them.
“If Kurt Okraku had authority over referees he would have used it for his team,” Oduro Sarfo quipped while in an interview on Max FM’s Sports Pack show on Thursday, January 9, 2025.
Oduro Sarfo further responded to Anim Addo’s comments on the GFA president defending referee Maxwell Hanson, especially when he has been accused of making bad calls in a recent match between Dreams FC and Accra Lions.
“He [Kurt Okraku] was trying to say that you don’t accuse someone who is not present to defend himself,” he added.
