GNFS fight Kantamanto inferno — Over 100 shops destroyed

The Ghana National Fire Service has been dispatched to the Kantamanto market in the Greater Accra Region to tackle a raging inferno.

The fire, believed to have started around 1 a.m. on the second day of January 2024 saw the Makola Fire Station, Tema Fire Station, Legon Fire Station, Madina Fire Station, and other crews have been reported to be at the scene.

A number of social media users, especially on the ‘X’ platform, have disclosed shops belonging to themselves or families have been gutted down by the fire.

Over 100 shops have been destroyed, with no loss of life reported so far, as the 13 fire trucks on the scene have been able to subdue the fire.
