President-elect of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, has fired a strong warning to individuals seeking positions in his government.
Mr Mahama was elected by a majority of Ghanaians over H.E. Dr Mahamudu Bawumia to lead the country, with the hope to “reset” the country as he vehemently spoke during the National Democratic Congress’ campaign leading up to the 2024 general polls.
Speaking at his thanksgiving service at the Ringway Gospel Assemblies of God Church in Osu, Accra, Mr Mahama, aside from advising his party members to learn from the New Patriotic Party’s monumental defeat, cautioned them to be diligent and humble in their dealings concerning the country when appointed.
“If you’re not prepared to work and serve the people of Ghana diligently, and modestly, and with humility, then don’t come,” he said.
With the transition process still ongoing, H.E. John Mahama is expected to be sworn in once again as the president of Ghana on January 7, 2025.
