Renowned broadcaster Kofi Okyere Darko, known in the industry as KOD, says the dynamics of journalism have changed in the country.
He attributed the change to social media, which, he said, has enabled many beginners to start as stars without necessarily serving and training on the field.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Max Morning Show in Accra on Friday, the media expert stated that the current journalism was much easier as compared to his time of starting the job.
“Now the dynamics had changed a bit because those times, you had to start from scratch. You have to start from day one, but now you can start from the university without starting from class one, meaning that social media has changed everything,” he noted.
KOD recalled that he had to even iron the clothes and polish shoes of those who came before him as part of his service to them just to learn on the job field.
He maintained that service was key in every job field and charged social media influencers to do service to become experts.
“There’s one thing about service; if you don’t serve, no one will serve you,” he added.
KOD also advised them to be humble to sustain their mantle and to learn more in the field of journalism.
