Veteran highlife singer Akosua Agyapong has threatened to come after the leaders of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), who are also acting as the board directors of the Ghana Music Right Organization (GHAMRO).
She warned the leaders to stay put, as what she was coming with was greater than what they had witnessed.
The “Eka bi nie” hitmaker issued the stern warning during an exclusive interview with Max Drive in Accra on Wednesday.
She revealed that Bice Osei Kuffour, popularly known as Obour, became part of the board of directors for GHAMRO when she disclosed the amount of money that the music tax collectors had been hoarding.
“I saw Obour at Teachers Hall during an event, and I showed him documents pertaining to the money that GHAMRO had collected, and all that Obour asked wass, ‘S there’s money there (GHAMRO) like this?’ The next thing I saw was Obour being part of the directors. Even Bessa Simons, who is the current President of MUSIGA, was also part of the directors,” Akosua Agyapong said.
She further indicated that she would take MUSIGA on at the appropriate time as she was currently gathering evidence against the union.
“And once I investigate what I heard to get the necessary evidence, I will take MUSIGA on because now I am not closer to their doorstep yet,” Akosua Agyapong warned.
She recalled when Obour called on the phone during a radio interview to challenge her to file a lawsuit against GHAMRO, if she indeed had a problem with the organization.
Akosua Agyapong expressed her utmost disgust about the leaders of the two institutions not thinking about the welfare of the veteran musicians for most to die poor.
