GFA: Black Stars Coaches Safe After Road Accident

Date:

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has confirmed that key members of the Black Stars technical team were involved in a road accident earlier today while returning to Accra from Tarkwa.

The incident occurred after they had attended the Champion of Champions match between FC Samartex 1996 and Nsoatreman FC.

A Land Cruiser carrying Head Coach Otto Addo, Assistant Coach John Paintsil, and Goalkeepers Trainer Fatawu Dauda was hit by a pickup truck that veered into their lane. Quick reflexes from the driver avoided a serious collision, although the vehicle was damaged.

The GFA reports that all three coaches are in stable condition and will undergo additional medical checks upon their return to Accra. They are expected to be ready for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Angola and Niger.

The GFA appreciates the public’s concern and support and asks for continued prayers as the team prepares for these important matches.
