The Korle Bu Teaching Hospital (KBTH) administration has refuted claims claiming that malfunctioning elevators forced the suspension of emergency procedures in the surgery department.
It clarified that all surgical emergencies and urgent cases were being responded to promptly even if the Department of Surgery was still working on elevator repairs.
People who were already in the hospital because they needed surgery were also being taken care of.
Therefore, in a press release dated August 29, 2024, the hospital’s administration asked the public and patients to ignore the “misleading information” implying that emergency surgeries have been put on hold.
