New Asante Kotoko signing, Wisdom Fernando Bassey, who likened himself to Vinicius Jr and Kylian Mbappe, says he turned down multiple offers to join the Ghanaian giants.
Bassey, 22, signed a three-year deal with the Porcupine Warriors as a free agent.
He’s a direct replacement for Bernard Somuah, who joined Spanish outfit Celta Vigo on a year-long loan deal.
“Many clubs contacted me for my services but I decided to join Asante Kotoko because of the club history. The coach (Prosper Ogum) in particular spoke to me about what he wants to do with the team and so, I’m glad to be here” he told the club’s media team.
The new number seven shirted Mbappe-like winger for Kotoko, and former winner of the Nigerian Premier League managed seven goals and eight assists in 76 appearances for his former sides Akwa and Sporting.
