The WAFU Zone B U-17 Championship for 2024 has been won by Burkina Faso, who defeated Ivory Coast 3-1 on Tuesday, May 28, 2024.
Asharaf Tapsoba, Burkina Faso’s standout performer throughout the competition, opened the scoring with a skillfully executed goal in the 27th minute, but Mohammed Diarra equalized three minutes later with a deflected effort.
After the first half ended 1-1, Tapsoba gave his team the lead again four minutes into the second half, and a minute after Sawadogo entered the game, he scored to put the game out of reach.
The winners went undefeated in the competition. At the U-17 AFCON, the two finalists will play as West African representatives.
