2024 ELECTION: NMC Chairman Urges Journalists to Resist Political Manipulation

Yaw Boadu-Ayeboafoh, the Chairman of the National Media Commission (NMC), has urged journalists to remain vigilant against political manipulation as the 2024 general elections approach.

Addressing attendees at the 30th Anniversary celebration of Radio Univers, Boadu-Ayeboafoh underscored the importance of upholding journalistic ethics without compromise.

He stressed the significance of prioritizing credibility and truthfulness in reporting, particularly during the crucial electoral period.

Boadu-Ayeboafoh emphasized, “We must not allow ourselves to become tools for partisan interests that undermine our professionalism.”

Highlighting the media’s challenges, particularly the lack of specific laws governing electronic media in Ghana, Boadu-Ayeboafoh called for proactive measures to ensure transparency, accountability, and professionalism across all media platforms.
