#MAXNEWS: Erratic Power Supply would be over in the next few days – ECG Board

Date:

Herbert Krapa, Chairman of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), has delivered assurance that the current power crisis plaguing Ghanaians will soon be a thing of the past. He affirmed that the government has taken decisive actions to ensure an uninterrupted power supply for consumers.

Mr. Krapa reiterated the government’s recognition of the challenges faced by the people and its unwavering dedication to resolving them. In a recent Facebook post dated Wednesday, April 24, he extended gratitude to Ghanaians for their patience and resilience during this trying period.

Speaking at the commissioning of VRA’s 15MW Solar Plant in Kaleo, Mr. Krapa emphasized the government’s immediate measures to restore uninterrupted power supply. He assured that the unfortunate power challenges would be resolved in the coming days.

As I said earlier today at Kaleo, at the Commissioning of VRA’s 15MW Solar Plant, Government has put in place immediate measures to ensure the return of uninterrupted supply of power to consumers.
I can, therefore, state that the unfortunate power challenges Ghanaians are facing should be over in the next few days.
We are fully confident that the measures being put in place should resolve the service interruptions.
We empathise with all consumers and apologise unreservedly for the effects of the outages on our daily lives.
Please bear with us. We are fixing it and we are nearly there.

Acknowledging the impact of the outages on daily life, Mr. Krapa empathized with consumers and offered an apology while affirming the ongoing efforts to rectify the situation.

For the past seven weeks, Ghanaians have endured intermittent power cuts, locally known as “Dumsor.” Amidst growing concerns, there have been calls for the Ministry of Energy to provide an official timetable to keep consumers informed about power availability.

In addressing these concerns, Mr. Krapa, also serving as the Deputy Minister for Energy, recently participated in a significant ceremony alongside President Akufo-Addo at Kaleo. The event marked the official inauguration of phase two of the Kaleo Solar Power Plant, representing a significant stride in Ghana’s renewable energy journey.

With a capacity of fifteen megawatts peak (15MWp), this addition underscores Ghana’s commitment to harnessing clean energy sources and building a sustainable future for generations to come.
