Date:

On the first day of the Black Stars training camp in Kumasi, twenty-four players engaged in training in preparation for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote D’Ivoire, as the team began a nine-day camping trip in Kumasi on Monday, January 2, 2024.

The technical team led by Chris Hughton decided to move the first day of training to the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex at Abrankese after thoroughly inspecting both the Baba Yara Sports stadium and the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports complex. This was due to the unfavorable state of the pitch at the Baba Yara Sports stadium.

The players present for the first day of training include Joseph Wollacott, Lawrence Ati-Zigi, Alidu Seidu, Denis Odoi, Kingsley Schindler, Gideon Mensah, Abdul Fatawu Hamid, Nicholas Opoku, Daniel Amartey, Salisu Mohammed, Alexander Djiku, Baba Iddrisu, Elisha Owusu, Abdul Samed Salis, Richmond Lamptey, Majeed Ashimeru, Andre Ayew, Ransford Yeboah Koningsdorffer, Osman Bukari, Joseph Painstil, Ernest Nuamah, Antoine Semenyo and Jonathan Sowah.
