#MAXAFCON2023 UPDATES: Black Stars to camp in Kumasi

Date:

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has made an astonishing announcement regarding the Black Stars camping base ahead of the Total Energies Africa Cup of Nations.

According to the GFA, following a review meeting between the management and technical teams, a decision was made to camp the Black Stars in Kumasi instead of their initial choice of South Africa.

The Ghana Football Association endured heavy criticism after it announced earlier that it would be camping the Black Stars in South Africa.

The team will now camp in Kumasi beginning Tuesday, January 2, 2023, as an international friendly against Botswana scheduled for Monday, January 8, 2023, in Johannesburg is called off while a new opponent will soon be announced.

The team will train behind closed doors in order to prepare without external distractions.

The media and public have therefore been advised by the FA to be mindful of the request of the technical and management teams.
