NSOATREMAN 1-0 ASANTE KOTOKO: Nsoatreman pip Kotoko to go top

Date:

Nsoatreman FC defeated a 10-man Asante Kotoko 1-0 for the first time  at Nana Koronmansah II Park in Nsoatre, thanks to a debatable  goal from Stephen Diyou in the 41st minute.

The game started with both teams having equal exchanges  until Nsoatreman took control of the game as Stephen Diyou scored five minutes before the end of the first half after he tapped home from close range, leaving the players of Kotoko protesting the referee’s decision to let the goal stand.

Kotoko’s Henry Ansu received a red card two minutes after going behind before the break.

The Porcupine Warriors managed to hold off further attacks from Nsoatreman in the second half to avoid conceding more goals.

The win has moved Nsoatreman FC back to the summit of the Ghana Premier League with 16 points with a game in hand, while Asante Kotoko are placed ninth on the table with 10 points.

Elsewhere in Accra,  Accra Lions  stayed at home to beat visiting unbeaten Kpando Hearts of Lions  by 2-1  to break the unbeaten run by the  Kpando lads.
