MAX ENTERTAINMENT: Change narrative on breast cancer – Stephanie Benson

Date:

United Kingdom-based Ghanaian jazz singer Stephanie Benson has debunked claims that breast sucking could prevent breast cancer and charged authorities to provide the necessary education on the subject matter.

According to her, she always becomes upset when she sees or hears people spreading such messages and advises them to change the narrative.

“I get very angry when I hear it. I joke all the time on my page. We need to stop it; there are certain things you just don’t mess with. Whoever started that narrative needs to stop it. It’s never true that sucking breasts prevents breast cancer. How can it be? If you say sexual pleasure sucking, how?” she queried.

The “Good Feeling” hitmaker, who is also a breast cancer survivor, stated that the fallacious notion had made many girls fearful of allowing men to suck their breasts anyhow.

“If that is real, why do we have radiotherapists? This is ridiculous! It prevents what? I don’t get it. It is the most irresponsible thing for anyone to say. Some women are allowing the men to suck the breast even if they don’t enjoy it, and that’s almost like rape,” she stated.

Stephanie urged the culprit to desist from the act and termed the claim wrong and not scientifically proven.

“There are people who want somebody to suck it, even if they don’t want to. I don’t understand; it makes no sense to me. So please, that narrative should be stopped. It makes no sense scientifically at all,” she added.
