FIFA INVESTIGATIONS: FIFA opens up a “tracking survey” on Ghana’s Nuamah’s move to Lyon.

According to L’Équipe, at the request of several French clubs, FIFA are set to investigate the recruitment process which saw Ernest Nuamah (19) complete a move to Lyon.

The Ghanaian forward initially transferred to Molenbeek from Nordsjaelland before completing a loan move which included an obligation to buy to OL.

The multi-ownership model at Eagle Football which sees Molenbeek as a sister club to Lyon has seen Nuamah’s move come under some suspicion from rival fans and pundits alike.

The fee that saw Nuamah sign for Molenbeek is a record fee worth €25m. The newly-promoted Jupiler Pro League club’s previous record fee was €3m. The Belgian club should recoup the full €25m back when the obligation to buy clause takes effect.

Despite FIFA approving the 19-year-old’s move to Molenbeek and Lyon gaining upstream approval from the DNCG following the financial restrictions placed on the club, internal sources at FIFA are claiming that the transfer will be investigated. The International Footballing body should ask Lyon for some “follow-up” information following increased questioning from Les Gones’ divisional rivals.
