MAX TV’S U-23 AFCON UPDATES: Our target is to qualify for the Olympic Games – Ibrahim Tanko

Date:

Ibrahim Tanko, the coach of Ghana’s U23 team, has set his sights on more than just winning the trophy at the U23 AFCON campaign.

He has stated that his primary goal is to guide his talented squad to secure a spot at the prestigious Olympic Games.

Ghana’s campaign begins on Sunday against Congo at Rabat’s Prince Moulay Abdullah Stadium before facing host, Morocco, on Tuesday, June 27.

During the pre-match conference on Saturday, June 24, 2023, Coach Tanko expressed his ambitions. He stated, “Our target is to qualify for the Olympic Games, but of course, there is a trophy at stake, so we want to win it too.” The former Dortmund player emphasized the team’s good preparations, starting in Ghana and continuing in Egypt.

Having attended the previous edition of the competition in Egypt, Tanko has an idea of what to expect.
