MAX GPL: Medeama SC come from behind to beat King Faisal

Date:

Medeama Sporting Club continued their hunt for their first-ever Premier League title with a convincing 2-1 comeback win over a beleaguered Kumasi King Faisal side.

Samuel Kusi stunned the home team with a stunning long-range lob over Felix Kyei in Medeama’s goal to give the relegation-threatened side the lead after just ten minutes into the game.

Medeama responded well after conceding early with a bullet header from defender Nurudeen Abdulai to get the league leaders level nine minutes later.

The Yellow and Mauve kept pushing for the second goal with an array of attacks, forcing the Inshallah boys to defend resolutely till the end of the first half.

Evans Adotey’s boys began the second half in search of a winner to maintain their title charge. It was not long before the whole Tarkwa township felt the roar of the fans at Akoon Park as Joshua Agyemang finished off a well-worked move by Derrick Fordjour on the left side to give Medeama the lead for the first time in the game as the climatic conditions worsened.

Medeama SC will face FC Samartex in Samaraboi in their next match as they remained on top of the BetPawa Premier League with 56 points, followed closely by Aduana FC with 52 points.
