Accra Hearts of Oak legend Benard Dong Bortey believes he could win the league with the glorious club if he is given the opportunity to manage the team to the end of the season.
Speaking on Max FM on Thursday, Dong Bortey reiterated that despite the league lacking quality, especially scorers, and his mother club also putting up some abysmal performances, when given the opportunity, he could transform the Phobians and lift the ultimate.
“Nobody should think that when the mandate is given to me, I can coach the club.” If I am given the chance to coach Hearts of Oak, I will win the league, “he told Max FM.
Hearts’ Under-14 development coach, however, refused to comment on Accra Hearts of Oak’s current run of form in the 2022/2023 BetPawa Premier League when asked by the host of the “Sports Pack” show on Max FM.
The Phobians have been in poor form lately, suffering a humiliating defeat at the hands of newcomers Tamale City at the Aliu Mahama Stadium on Wednesday.
The ‘Never Say Die’ lads are currently placed sixth on the league radar with 42 points with six matches to finish the league.
