GPL Wk 18: Aduana Stars beat Hearts of Oak in Accra, as Isaac Mintah hits brace

Date:

On Sunday, February 19, 2023, at the Accra Sports Stadium, Aduana Stars defeated Hearts of Oak with ease thanks to Isaac Mintah’s leadership.

The Dormma team won 2-0 thanks to a brace from Mintah to increase their advantage at the top of the standings.

With few opportunities and a goalless first half, the game was evenly matched.

Two minutes after the break, Mintah scored the game’s first goal after connecting to Sam Adams’ low cross from the right.

Four minutes beyond the hour mark, he doubled the advantage for the League leaders with a lavish finish after dazzling past Konadu Yiadom and placing the ball inside the far post.

The outstanding defender for Aduana was Joseph Addo, who made sure Hearts couldn’t get back into the match.

Three point-blank saves from Addo helped the Ogya boys stay in the contest.

Heart of Oak was unable to get back into the contest, and Aduana triumphed.

Aduana, who currently have 30 points, have increased their advantage over the competition’s top team by five, while Heart of Oak remain in third place with 28 points.
