GPL WK 18: Medeama FC beat Legon Cities 2-0 in Tarkwa

Date:

Following a convincing 2-0 victory over Legon Cities at home on Friday, Medeama defeated the team twice.

In the 40th minute, defender Nurudeen Abdulai scored his second goal of the year with a beautiful finish.

To put the home team in ahead, the strong center back tiptoed on a cross from captain Kwasi Donsu and unleashed a powerful shot that beat goalkeeper Sylvester Sackey.

The striker Joshua Agyemang placed the cherry on top with a deft goal in the 70th minute to give the team the maximum number of points at the Akoon Community Park, allowing the Mauve and Yellows to capitalize on their superiority.

Medeama made advantage of their time in control as the two-time FA Cup champions secured all three points to go up the list as goalkeeper Felix Kyei was virtually on holiday.

With Hearts of Oak serving as the lone loss, the squad has won four of its previous five home games.

Medeama have moved up to sixth place in the standings after 18 games.

They travel further north on Wednesday in order to confront Tamale City.

Legon Cities in the Western region has lost twice, first to Samartex and now to Medeama.
