Anim Addo: Hearts of Oak shouldn’t have sacked Samuel Boadu

Date:

Samuel Anim Addo, a member of the Ghana Football Association’s [GFA] Executive Council, has said that Hearts of Oak’s decision to fire Coach Samuel Boadu was a grave error.

After spending two years and winning five championships with the Phobians, Coach Samuel Boadu was fired by Hearts of Oak.

In an interview, Samuel Anim Addo said that despite Hearts of Oak’s shaky start to the season, the team should have kept the coach. He pointed out that the 37-year-old coach should have been retained after ending the team’s trophy drought.

“Well, it is not a good one from my point of view because he (Samuel Boadu) has really done well for the club which hitherto struggled for trophies for many years,” he said in an interview.

“Traditional clubs should learn how to maintain coaches to stand the test of time. The most successful managers stay for long,” he stressed.

With the Phobians, Samuel Boadu won the Ghana Premier League as well as two FA Cups, two Super Cups, and a Presidential Cup.
