Sista Afia to female musicians: We need to support each other

Date:

Sista Afia, a musician from Ghana, has urged female musicians to help one another.

During an interview with Graphic Showbiz, Sista Afia made this statement.

Speaking to female acts in Ghana, Sista Afia urged, “We need to start supporting each other just like I have been doing for my female colleagues.”

“I am always posting [on social media] works of other female musicians as a way of supporting my own,” she added.

The ‘Asuoden’ hitmaker, speaking on the subject of past feuds with fellow female music acts, said she has resolved not to “ever do it again, although beefing is sometimes good because it gets people talking about you, I don’t think I will indulge in it ever again.”

She’d rather “sit back and observe those engaged in beefs but to get me to do it with anyone in the industry, that is not going to happen. I am done, I mean zero indulgence for me. I don’t think I will ever do that again.”

When the rapper and singer got into a fight with friends Freda Rhymz and Eno Barony in 2020, she saw things very differently.

The verbal war, which was allegedly initiated by Afia after the release of her song “WMT,” lasted two weeks and ended in a physical brawl between Freda and Afia at the offices of an Accra-based TV station.

It appeared like the rappers would have gotten into a physical altercation if not for the intervention of management from both sides.

Afia, who is now sorry, was furious when they were separated and referred to her rival as a “dumb girl.”
