Hearts of Oak’s usage of their junior team in the current GHALCA Top 6 competition, according to Great Olympics CEO Oluboi Commodore, is disrespectful. He has pushed on the organizers to punish the team.
Hearts of Oak played a young team against Medeama SC in the GHALCA Top 6 league on Sunday at the Accra Sports Stadium.
After losing 3-1 to the Mauve and Yellow, the Phobians were eliminated from the preseason tournament.
Some Hearts of Oak fans were disappointed not to witness the new signings the squad made during the open transfer window when they attended the game.
Samuel Boadu, the head coach, was not in charge of the game’s technical aspects because he was seen watching from the stands.
Oluboi Commodore claimed in an interview that Hearts of Oak’s decision to enter this game with their U20 team was disrespectful.
“They boycotted the Ga Mantse match against Olympics and are doing the same in the GHALCA Top 6 competition. If they would not participate, why then do they collect money in the name of participating?” He fumed.
“Per the regulations of the GFA, there has to be some agreement and registration of the players they fielded and if they didn’t go through the required processes, Hearts should be deducted points because it isn’t allowed.”
Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko will face off in the Champion of Champions Cup on September 5.
