MTN FA Cup: Hearts of Oak beat Medeama to set up Ashgold final

Date:

Accra Hearts of Oak beat Medeama 3-0 to set up a final against Ashantigold in the MTN FA Cup.

Hearts who are chasing a double eased past Medeama who were determined to avenge their league defeat but that did not materialize.

Hearts opened the scoring in the early in the game when Benjamin Afutu headed in from close range to give Hearts the lead before Halftime.

The Phobians continued their dominance and a mistake from Medeama goalkeeper Frank Boateng allowed Isaac Mensah to make it 2-0 in the 58th minute.

Hearts forward Afriyie Barnie put the icing on the cake in the dying embers of the game to send Hearts into the finals.

They will now play Ashantigold who also beat Berekum Chelsea 4-1 in the other semi final.
