Renowned Nigerian musician Alexander Adegbola Akande known in the industry as 9ice has revealed that he vomited blood for six months after his mega hit “Gongo Aso.”
According to him, the attack was spiritual and no health practitioner could diagnose him with any medical condition.
Speaking in a recent interview on The Nancy Isime Show, 9ice said the incident occurred around 2009/2010 and was not due to any medical condition.
“I was vomiting blood for about six months in my own house. I had to leave. It wasn’t medical,” he revealed.
9ice indicated that he had to see an Ifa priest before he recovered, an experience that led to a significant shift in his beliefs.
“I’m not a Christian or a Muslim. I’m a traditionalist. I’m a Babalawo. I wish I had known about Ifa earlier,” he said.
The singer then urged Africans to embrace the traditional beliefs, stressing that it played an integral part of their identity.
