Head coach of South Africa, Hugo Broos, has named Atalanta talisman Ademola Lookman a danger to his side ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying clash in Uyo, Nigeria.
The Super Eagles of Nigeria will take on Bafana Bafana at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium on Friday, June 7, 2024, at 7 p.m.
Both sides are vying for an automatic spot at the global football showpiece in the USA, Mexico, and Canada, as a win for either side would move them to the top spot in the Group C standings.
Broos, 72, stated ahead of the game that his team is focused on the Super Eagles as a whole, despite pointing out Lookman, who bagged a hat-trick in the Europa final against Bayer Leverkusen, as the danger man.
“Obviously, the danger man is Ademola Lookman, but we are not focusing on that,” Broos told reporters in Uyo.
“We are focusing on our game, we have the ability and we have proven that at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Côte d’Ivoire.”
