The president of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, has given the new Sports and Recreation Minister, Kofi Adams, a tough task.
While fulfilling his duty as the president of the land under Article 67 of the Constitution, he stated that the Sports Minister would hold the Ghana Football Association (GFA) accountable for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
With the next round of FIFA World Cup African qualifiers set to come off from March 17 to 24, 2025, pressure is on the GFA to ensure the Black Stars win all two games against Chad and Madagascar.
“I have instructed the Sports Minister to hold the GFA accountable for the upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifiers,” President Mahama said.
The Black Stars are expected to improve their performance in the qualifiers after failing to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nation.
Ghana is second on the Group I standings behind Comoros, but level on points.
