2026 FIFA U-20 WWCQ: Ghana Stumbles at Home to South Africa

Date:

Ghana, disappointingly, drew 2-2 with South Africa in the first-leg encounter at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Agnes Yeboah opened the scoring for the Black Princesses in the 33rd minute to put Ghana in the lead.

South Africa drew level after recess in the 48th minute before Linda Owusu Ansah restored Ghana’s lead in the 52nd minute from a corner kick.

The Princesses were pegged back after a defensive blunder saw the visitors equalise in the 60th minute.

Ghana will travel to play the return leg in South Africa on Saturday, February 14, 2026, with the winner set for the final round of qualifiers.
