Asante Kotoko has stunned the Ghana Premier League (GPL) champions to win the 2025 Champion of Champions Cup.
The season curtain-raiser tie saw Bibiani Gold Stars welcome the winners of the MTN FA Cup at Dun’s Park, Bibiani.
Gold Stars, fresh from their recent triumph at the GHALCA Top 4, were favourites to win the much-anticipated encounter.
However, it was the Porcupine Warriors who showed intentions of leaving Bibiani as Champion of Champions.
Mohammed Camara made few decent saves, as Kotoko dominated proceedings, creating clear-cut chances.
The breakthrough arrived in the 68th minute when midfielder Hamzata pounced on a loose ball from a set-piece, slotting home decisively.
The win will serve as a major boost for Karim Zito’s men ahead of their CAF Confederation Cup campaign.
