Scotland’s national men’s football team is looking to convince Newcastle star Anthony Gordon to commit his international future to them.
Former Chelsea player and coach Steve Clarke, who is now the man in charge of the Scotts, has been impressed with the performances of the youngster as he looks to assemble a formidable squad for the 2024 European Championship.
Gordon’s fellow club teammates, including Elliot Anderson, Harvey Barnes, and Tino Livramento, are also under Scotland’s radar.
The former Everton player has represented England at junior levels and even won the European U-21 Championships in 2022.
He is regarded highly by Gareth Southgate, though, so England might prevent it from happening. Gordon is eligible to represent Scotland because of his paternal grandparents’ ancestry.
