Bibiani Gold Stars talisman Charles Gyamfi Kamara believes his team can replicate Medeama SC and FC Samartex in their quest to claim the 2024-25 Ghana Premier League title.
The 25-year-old creative player has proved to be influential to the current leaders of the league under head coach Frimpong Manso, who took over the reins from the recently deceased Michael Osei.
Going into the league break for the 2024 General Elections, Gold Stars have only lost once, while recording six wins and five draws.
Kamara attributed his team’s disappointment in the league to complacency in most parts of the season, finishing 11th, as FC Samartex easily secured the title with an enormous 10-point margin.
Speaking in an interview with Nana Darkwah Gyasi on Max FM, Kamara insisted their current position on the league table is no fluke, but a result of hardwork.
“God’s time is the best, but I wouldn’t say we are just participating… We are focused on winning the league… Every member of the team is working hard towards achieving the ultimate,” he said on the Sports Pack show.
Gold Stars would surely have to dig deep to stay at the top for the 2024-25 Ghana Premier League title just as Medeama SC and FC Samartex have done to break the monotonous hold by Asante Kotoko, Hearts of Oak, and Aduana FC.
