2021/22 GPL Wk 23: Kotoko’s losing streak against King Faisal comes to an end.

Date:

On Sunday afternoon, Kumasi Asante Kotoko put a stop to their losing streak against local rival King Faisal at the Baba Yara Stadium.

The league leaders wasted no time in signaling their intentions, scoring only three minutes after the game began.
On the left side of the box, Asante Kotoko was awarded a free kick. Imoro Ibrahim scored from the penalty spot to make it 1-0.

Imoro Ibrahim nearly scored again in the 39th minute, but his free-kick soared over the crossbar. Mfegue pursued and located Fabio Gama, but he was unable to connect the dots.

King Faisal came dangerously close to equalizing, but goalie Danlad Ibrahim stopped Ortiz Sam’s shot.

The Porcupine Warriors changed their lineup after halftime, with Emmanuel Keyekeh replacing the injured Mudasiru Salifu.

A free-kick opportunity presented itself to King Faisal, but it was squandered.

Kumasi Asante Kotoko extended their lead at the top of the table with a 1-0 victory.
