2019/20 Ghana Football League season finally cancelled

Date:

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has cancelled the 2019/20 football season.
This decision was taken by the GFA Executive Council after a meeting was held on Tuesday, June 30, 2020.
A statement from GFA read: The Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), has taken a decision to cancel the 2019/2020 football season following a marathon meeting on Tuesday, June 30, 2020, at the GFA Secretariat in Accra.
This means that the Ghana Premier League, the Division 1, 2 leagues and the Women’s League have all been cancelled.
The GFA in March suspended all football activities following a directive by President Akufo-Addo.
Clubs can now prepare for the new football season which is likely to start in September.
Max Sports will bring updates on reactions to the cancellation on it’s flagship radio sports show Sports Pack 1 from 10am on Wednesday.
