We stand by our decision—Nsoatreman FC

Date:

The Public Relations Officer of Nsoatreman FC, Joel Gyempeh, has revealed the club stands by its decision to withdraw from the Ghana Premier League.

The troubled club announced on Friday, March 14, 2025, its decision to withdraw from the league over fears for the lives of players and officials.

Following the heinous murder of Asante Kotoko fan Nana Pooley during a game against Nsoatreman on February 7, the league returned after a four-week hiatus.

Now considering himself a former public relations officer, Gyempeh spoke to Nana Darkwa Gyasi on Max FM’s Sports Pack show on the current status of the club.

“Yes, we have withdrawn from the Ghana Premier League. The main evidence to this effect is the forfeiture of our game against Basake Holy Stars over the weekend, and we stand by our decision… All players and technical members have left and are jobless now,” he said.

Gyempeh wondered why the Ghana Football Association denied receiving Nsoatreman’s proposal to withdraw from the league when they first broke the news on Max FM, but now the club remains firm on its decision.
