#UECLfinal: Fiorentina hold Club Brugge to book final spot

Date:

Italian Serie A side Fiorentina beat Club Brugge 3-4 on aggregate to reach their second consecutive UEFA Europa Conference League final.

Lucas Beltran’s 85th-minute strike cancelled out Vanaken’s opener for Brugge to grant his side another crack at the title after losing out to West Ham last season.

The Italians managed to scrape a 3-2 result in the first leg in Florence, heading into this game.

What a time to be an Italian! Carlo Ancelotti is set to become the greatest manager in history, as Roma and Atalanta are one leg away from making it to the UEFA Europa League final.

Fiorentina maintained a balanced play, attacked causiously, and defended dilligently despite a late charge from the home side.

Their place in the final was assured when Club Brugge went down to ten men, as Ghanaian international Denis Odoi received a second yellow card in the game.

Vincenzo Italiano and his men await the winner of the second semifinal between Olympiacos and Aston Villa.
