Mikel Arteta, manager of Arsenal, ahead of the match against Aston Villa on Saturday in the Premier League, told reporters he expects Eddie Nketiah to stay at the club as the close of the transfer window draws near.
The England international of Ghanaian descent has been heavily linked to a move to Nottingham Forest, but Arteta has shown interest in the player staying on.
“I expect Eddie to train with us today and be ready for tomorrow. Whatever happens, will happen,” he said in the pre-match conference.
The Spaniard gaffer would need Nketiah or replace him by all means should he move to a different club, as they look to usurp Manchester City as champions of England.
