Throwback Photo : Read how famous Ghanaian journalist met Jose Mourinho

Date:

Yaw Ampofo Ankrah, the head of sports at IMAX Media recalls how he stunningly had the enviable privilege of interviewing one of football’s greatest coaches, ‘the special one,’ Jose Mourinho.

When Citizen Kofi called me via phone that morning, he simply said, “Yaw, I want you to interview Mourinho, so get ready. I’ll call you back with more details.”

I literally said, “Oww! Naturally, I assumed this was another London (Chelsea) assignment, so I looked for my passport and started going through my itinerary lined up for the next few days to see what I would have to cancel.

But there was no need because Mourinho was rather coming to Accra as a special guest of Dr. Amoah on a football business.

Along with Antony Baffoe, we met the Chelsea Coach at the Golden Tulip Hotel in Accra.

The rest, as they say, is now history!
