The National Sports Authority, Kumasi, has assured the Baba Yara Sports Stadium will be ready to host the much-anticipated first ‘Super Clash’ match of the 2024-25 Ghana Premier League season.
The ‘Super Clash,’ the biggest rivalry game between the two biggest clubs in Ghana, Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak, could be dated as far back as the inception of the country’s football top division.
Kotoko and Hearts of Oak, two of Africa’s oldest surviving traditional clubs, will lock horns once again on Sunday, December 15, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, Kumasi.
Ahead of the game, Patience Mensah, a Public Relations Officer, of the National Sports Authority, in an interview on Max FM, confirmed the Authority will ensure readiness of the match venue for the ‘Super Clash’ after concerns were raised by football fans during Kotoko’s last home game, as portions of the pitch looked to be detoriating.
