Road Closure Announcement: Asantehemaa One Week

The Ghana Police Service through the Ashanti Regional Commander has announced road closures ahead of the one-week funeral celebration of the late Asantehemaa.

Nana Konadu Yiadom III, has passed away. She died on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at the age of 98. The death was officially announced by the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, at an Asanteman Council on Monday, August 11, 2025.

In a press release signed by the deputy superintendent, head of public of the Ashanti Regional Command, Godwin Ahianyo, major roads leading to the Manhyia Palace will be closed on Thursday, August 21, for the one-week funeral celebration.

Motorists have therefore been cautioned to adhere to traffic diversion directives and vehicle parking arrangements. Rickshaws, tricycles, and motorbikes will not be allowed access in and around the Manhyia Palace.

Though shuttle services would be provided at key landmarks such as the Asawasi Methodist Park and Central Mosque Car Park, authorities will not hesitate to tow away vehicles parked in unauthorized zones.The Ghana Police Service, through the Ashanti Regional Commander, has announced road closures ahead of the one-week funeral celebration of the late Asantehemaa.
