Chelsea FC are having a strong end to the 2023–24 English Premier League season following their fourth consecutive win in a matchday 37 midweek tie away at Brighton.
Cole Palmer and Christopher Nkunku’s ice-cold finishes delivered a deserving 1-2 win over the Seagulls at the Amex Stadium.
Summer signing from Manchester City, Palmer, started and finished off an intelligent move with an exquisite header to bag his 22nd Premier League goal of the season and give Chelsea a first-half lead.
The Blues continued in the second-half just as they did in the first, this time with Frenchman Nkunku doubling the lead in the 64th minute.
With two minutes to the end of regulation time, Reece James was sent off for lashing out at his opponent, Pedro, bringing his already disappointing season to an end.
It was a job done by Mauricio Pochettino’s men despite a late resurgence from Brighton through Danny Welbeck’s goal.
