Police Arrest 3 In Akyem Oda Machete Clash

The Ghana Police Service has arrested three suspects in connection to the violent clashes in Akyem Oda.

A video went viral of two sets of groups involved in a violent clash against each other at the New Station area of Akyem Oda on Wednesday, May 6, 2026.

The Eastern South Regional Police Command, on receipt of information about the clash, moved swiftly to restore calm.

According to a press release from the police, two suspects, George Okyere, Evans Adayele, and Paul Pascalele, have been arrested.

George was arrested while on admission at the Oda Jubilee Hospital after sustaining cuts to his forehead and a chopped finger.

Paul, on the other hand, sustained a deep cut to his right hand and was seeking treatment at the Akyem Oda Government Hospital emergency ward.

Meanwhile, Evans was grabbed from his hideout to assist with the ongoing investigation to locate the whereabouts of the other assailants.
