The President of the Republic of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, has nominated ten people for regional minister posts.
These ten nominees would have to appear before the Appointment Committee of the Parliament of Ghana for vetting.
With six regions outstanding, the ten nominees are for the regions of Greater Accra, Savannah, Ashanti, Ahafo, Upper East, Northern, North East, Easter, Volta, and Oti.
For the Ashanti region is Dr. Frank Amoakohene, a medical professional, having studied at the University of Ghana, University of Development Studies, and the Accra Business School.
James Gunu, a veteran media practitioner with a first degree in Journalism, Masters of Arts in Development Communication, and Masters of Arts in Local Government Administration and Organization, is a nominee for the Volta region.
Mrs. Rita Akosua Adjei Awatey, a distinguished educator and women’s advocate, has been nominated for the Eastern region.
Businessman and Member of Parliament for the Akan constituency, John Kwadwo Gyapong, gets the nod for the Oti region.
A former Coordinator of the National School Feeding Programme and Member of Parliament of the Bongo contituency, Akagmugri Donatus Atanga, receives a nomination for the Upper East region.
