#MaxEntertainment: Strongman kicks against expensive wedding

Date:

Renowned rapper Strongman Burner has kicked against spending huge sums of money just to marry a woman.

According to him, he would rather sign a court agreement with his wife and give the whooping sums he would have spent on the nuptials to the woman to do something worthwhile with them.

This follows the criticisms and trolls his colleague, Akwaboah Jnr, suffered on social media after spending huge sums on marrying his wife.

Strongman disclosed in an interview that Akwaboah spent a substantial amount of over GH¢170,000 to rent the Kempinski hotel for his wedding ceremony, which excluded the cost of feeding.

He expressed how irritated he was by social media users who criticized Akwaboah’s attire and aspects of the wedding without having any idea how much money was spent on the wedding.

That, Strongman said, was among the reasons he always got discouraged from putting up a luxurious wedding.

“It’s disheartening when you’ve put money into a wedding and then people on social media criticize your outfit. If it were up to me, I’d just sign the legal documents in court and give the money to my wife. For example, Akwaboah’s wedding.”

“He spent a lot of money. I was really upset when I saw negative comments about his wedding on social media. Just for Kempinski, he paid over GH₵170,000, which did not include food. The negative comments bothered me as his close friend,” the rapper said.

Akwaboh Jr. married his partner, Theresa, in a colorful ceremony on Friday, May 3, 2024.

Notable Ghanaian celebrities like Oheneyere Gifty Anti and her spouse, Nana Ansah Kwao IV, together with actress Oheneyere Mercy Asiedu and her husband, Nana Agyemang Badu, were all present at the ceremony.
