Date:

Defending champions Egypt are set to face Guinea on Tuesday night in a crunch semi-final match of the TotalEnergies CAF U23 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2023 will be live on MAX TV with studio discussions starting at 16:00 GMT

Egyptian head coach Mario Rogerio Reis Micale has acknowledged that his team is under pressure but is confident they will be victorious at the end of the encounter.

“We shall turn this pressure into success,” declared Micale during a pre-match press conference held at the Ibn Batouta Stadium in Tangier.

Guinea’s head coach on the other hand believes his side holds a significant advantage over the Egyptians.

“We do have an advantage over them due to the extra day of recovery, which makes a significant difference in football. We must make the most of it,” Cisse said.

The Guineans managed to progress to the last four of the competition after a 1-1 draw with the Black Meteors of Ghana.

Possible lineups:

Egypt (4-2-3-1): Hamza Alaa, Mohamed Tarek, Hossam Abdelmaguid, Mohamed El-Maghrabi, Hatem Mohammed, Mahmoud Gehad, Ahmed Nabil Koka, Mahmoud Saber, Ibrahim Adel, Osama Faisal, Ahmed Atef.

Guinea (4-3-3): Mory Keita, Madiou Keita, Mohamed Lamine Soumah, Bangali Cisse, Naby Oulare, Aguibou Camara, Ibrahima Breze Fofana, Fode Camara, Salifou Soumah, Ousmane Camara.

Prediction:

Egypt has been solid defensively throughout the tournament, conceding none while scoring 4 goals.

Guinea has shown to be a compact side with a ‘never say die’ attitude towards their matches.

The Egyptians may be viewed as the favorites but never underrate the Guineans.
