Popular gospel musician Mark Anim-Yirenkyi has dismissed rumors that the Seventh Day Adventist Church (SDA) has expelled him due to the logs of his hair.
According to him, he still worships at SDA, and no one has expelled him from the church.
Speaking in an interview with Max Morning Show in Accra on Monday, the “Fakye” crooner stated that SDA was not a family clan to expel anyone but a church one worship to learn the doctrines of God.
He explained that religion was not compounded with a definite lifestyle that mankind could follow to appear to please God.
“Every human has what we call conscience, so everything you’re doing will be predetermined and judged by your mind before it comes to the public. My image in public is something that I crafted in my own room, and my conscience has judged it already, so no one from the SDA can give me a prescribed image to project myself with,” the legendary singer stated.
He observed that every religion comes with its own doctrines, but doctrines had to be truthful and should not lead one astray.
Anim-Yirenkyi therefore cautioned Christians against any religious beliefs and teachings that could shape them for the worse and expressed the need for mankind to protect their minds from the words of the people.
“Words carry spirit in them, and it can transform you either for the worse or better. That’s why you don’t need to listen to others if your conscience has already judged your act and it is in line with your principles.
Don’t listen to unwise counsel. It has a tendency of destroying the godly fiber in you,” he added.
