Date:

Matchweek five of the 2025-26 Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League saw a number of upsets recorded on Saturday.

Defending champions Police Ladies lost ground on retaining their title in the Southern zone after losing to Jonina Ladies.

Agnes Yeboah‘s 22nd-minute goal was enough for Jonina Ladies to further dent Police Ladies’ title chances.

Leaders of the Southern Zone standings, Army Ladies, succumbed to a 1-0 defeat to former champions Hasaacas Ladies courtesy of a Linda Epo strike.

At the Junkwa Astro Turf on Saturday, Edem Atovor bagged a brace as Halifax Queens lost 2-0 away at Ladystrikers.

Oaks Ladies, coached by former Black Queens of Ghana star Mercy Tagoe, brushed off Soccer Intellectuals with a 2-0 victory.

Victoria Yeboah gave the Phobians the lead in the 35th minute before Amanda Mills rounded off the win with a 90th-minute strike.

Blessing Asubia scored the only goal in a game in which Ashtown Ladies defeated Dreamz Ladies in a Northern Zone encounter.

FC Savannah handed Fosu Royal Ladies a 3-1 beatdown on Farmers’ Day at the Aliu Mahama Stadium in Tamale.

Sakina Yakubu opened the scoring before Angelina Yeboah equalised for the Royal Ladies before Faiza Abdul Rashid registered a brace to seal the win for the Savannah Queens.

In a Tamale derby, Bintu Abdulai’s two goals secured a delightful win for the Northern Ladies over the Tamale Super Ladies.
