The maiden edition of the CalBank Beach Soccer Union Cup has kicked off in the historic coastal town of Keta in the Volta region of Ghana. The opening day witnessed exciting high tempo games with the most thrilling match of the day being played between Nungua Beach Soccer club and host team Sunset Sport of Keta. The match ended 2-2 in regulation time and only a superb extra-time goal from the feet of Jonathan Sowah settled the encounter 3-2 in favour of the Accra based Nungua team.
According to the Ghana Beach Soccer Clubs Union Chairman Mr Yaw Kusi Gyamfi Awere, this maiden edition of the CalBank Beach Soccer Union Cup is part of the union’s preparation to support the clubs to prepare fully for activities in 2022.
